2010 draws to a close . . .

Wed Dec 29th  – Lounged around in the a.m., no rush to get to Karen and Clint’s (Swetts) as they’re out with CK, Dorothy and family for a holiday lunch.  Arriving at Karen’s, we unhooked the “toad”, settled the rig in front of the house and got our bikes ready to ride.  Harold took Trixie for a run, then Harold and I pedaled around the neighborhood a bit and over to Taylor’s Mkt. in search of brie.

Swetts returned home and we enjoyed a low-key eve with food, drink and visiting.

Thurs – The annual Swett Musicale is just two days off, so Karen is slowly readying the house.

We’d connected with Michelle (Harold’s niece who lives near Sacramento) and made a plan to meet the family for lunch.  Harold and I thoroughly enjoyed an excellent visit and meal at the landmark Tower Café with all of the Koschekas.

We were glad that Paul came too, and we were so happy to chat with Courtney and Christine – we figure we hadn’t actually seen them in person (tho’ lots of pics!) for about ten years!  They are simply lovely, very delightful young ladies!   The only way we could’ve enjoyed this afternoon more is if MaryLee had been there with us – and she would’ve loved it, too.

Later Karen, Clint and I walked down to the Tower Theatre to see Black Swan – all I’ll say here is . . . bizarre movie . . . I think I’m glad I saw it, but I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone!

New Years Eve Day – The final day of an amazing year!!  Finally got out on our scooters today!  Cold, but the sun was shining – at least for a while.  Out for a.m. coffee, shopping for a few last minute party items – and then it was time to celebrate!
Check out the view from Karen's window at scoots
and the RV in the driveway across the street!

Got to take a New Years Eve scoot over to Bob & Cynthia Shallots so they could take a quick spin on Blondie and Kiwi . . .

. . . then, back to Karen’s to get ready for the beer tasting party at Dale and Carlos’.  We didn’t really plan to stay out til midnight, but all the good company, eating and drinking and a hilarious game of Catch Phrase, and suddenly it was 11:35!!  Everyone stayed for a champagne toast to ring in the new year!  A fun and memorable party for sure!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR to family and friends,
 old & new!
Wishing you peace & health in 2011!
